Pittsburgh, PA home photography studio

welome to gablehouse

Welcome to the new home studio! We are located in the Forest Hills area of Pittsburgh, about10 miles east of downtown Pittsburgh.

My goal for this space was to transport clients back to the golden age of Hollywood. Think warm lights, lush fabrics, feathers, pears and lots of candles. An immense amount of detail and love went into this space, we can tone down or dress it up as much as you’d like to create your dream set!

Warm glowing chandeliers and ornate wall sconces illuminate an elegant ballroom with classic architectural details.
A vintage-style bedroom interior with warm lighting showcases antique furniture and decorative elements.

The Vanity

This vanity is from 1925. I acquired this gem from a family member of the original owner. It is made of wood and is adorned with lots of trinkets. I know it may look overwhelming, but we can move or remove what we need to, to get the best shot. I love using this set to capture “getting ready”style photos. It also works great as a backdrop for those popular “life of a showgirl”style images.

Vintage tufted chaise lounge illuminated by dramatic lighting against stone wall in dark moody setting.

The chaise lounge

I love a good chaise lounge! I wanted to find one that would not only photograph well, but was comfortable to use. This lounger is silver/grey in color and tufted with gems. It is set in front of velvet plum colored curtains and a clothing rack full of vintage gowns and accessories to the left, and has a feather lamp that hangs above. I love to use this set to highlight my clients curves and capture really flattering derrière photos. We also use this set for our silhouettes.

A series of photos showing a room filled with artificial foam or bubbles covering the floor and furniture.

The mirror

Taking photos of mirrors never goes well. It’s hard to capture the beauty of the mirror because you get lost in the reflection. I thought that was an issue until I realized that’s exactly what I wanted. I want you to stand out. This mirror was selected with so much intention. The frame is a thin simple gold trim that goes all the way around. The mirror stands 6.5 feet tall and 3 feet wide. This is the perfect size to capture all your curves and then some. We have different rugs for you to chose from that we lay down in front of the mirror as well as decor that goes around the base of your choice. This space is amazing for photos of your backside as well as stretched out on the floor. The possibilities are endless.

Elegant hotel bedroom with floral bedspread, blue velvet headboard, and warm brass table lamps on both sides.

The bed

The art deco king size bed is the main stage of our studio. The frame is velvet green with gold accents. The headboard stands an impressive 5.5 feet tall, to accommodate even the longest legs. Which is great because one of my favorite poses is to have you lay down and extend your legs up the headboard…. Ahhh chefs kiss! We have options of sheets for you to pick from that are different colors and materials to match your vibe. This is the perfect place to stretch out, shut your eyes and let the magic happen.
